Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how grshravan.com uses cookies and similar technologies, and works alongside the Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They can be "essential" (needed for the site to function) or "non-essential" (e.g. analytics, preferences).

2. What this site actually uses

TypeNameEssential?Purpose
Session cookiegr_accessYesSet only after you open the personal sign-in link I email you when I approve an access request; keeps the site's private sections unlocked for you until your access expires. It is HttpOnly, Secure and never readable by page scripts.
Session cookiegr_adminYesSet only for the site owner after signing in to the admin page. Visitors never receive it.
Local storage (not a cookie)shravan-cookie-consentYes (site preference)Remembers whether you accepted or declined this banner, so it doesn't reappear every visit. Stored in your browser's localStorage, not sent to any server.
Local storage (not a cookie)gr-themeYes (site preference)Remembers whether you chose the light, dark or system theme with the toggle in the header. Stored only in your browser's localStorage, never sent to any server, and removed when you switch back to System.

This site does not currently use Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, Plausible, or any other analytics/tracking tool, so no analytics cookies are set by grshravan.com's own pages. Spam protection on this site's forms uses a hidden field and a submission-timing check built into the page itself, which set no cookies. When Cloudflare Turnstile is switched on, it runs in a Cloudflare frame on pages with forms; this site does not control what that frame stores, so see Cloudflare's Turnstile documentation for its details.

Cloudflare is used at the DNS/domain-registrar level for this site. If Cloudflare's network-level services ever set cookies outside this site's own code, this table will be updated to reflect that.

3. Your choices

The cookie consent banner on this site lets you accept or decline non-essential items. The gr_access session cookie is essential to the access-control feature and is only ever set as a direct result of you entering the password yourself, and it's not set on page load.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings; most browsers let you block or delete cookies, though this may affect site functionality (e.g. staying unlocked for access-controlled sections).

4. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the tools used on this site change. Check back periodically for updates.
